Specialist drug and alcohol Support Worker (Domestic Abuse)
 
Salary – £24,500

1to1 Group are working with a large charity in the Somerset area to recruit a compassionate and dedicated individual to support domestic abuse victims within a refuge.
 
 
The Role:
·To complete a support plan with individual service users and provide the necessary support as identified in the plan. Assist and encourage service users to make their own decisions and choices, where appropriate.
·To support and empower clients who have multiple and complex needs who experience domestic abuse to live safe, independent lives.
·To maintain records in line with the service operational procedures.
·To liaise with relevant agencies and, with the agreement of the service user, act as an advocate with those agencies on the service users behalf.
·To develop and sustain professional relationships with service users and appropriate external agencies.
·Refer clients who are experiencing drug or alcohol difficulties to DHI for treatment and support when appropriate to do so.
 
Requirements:
 
·Experience of working with people with complex needs e.g., substance misuse and/or mental health
·Experience of assessing the safety needs of people experiencing domestic violence
·Driving Licence with business insurance.
·Understanding of the nature of domestic violence, and the impact it has on survivors and their children
·Experience of providing one to one support and advice
